Infamously, Herzog placed his entire cast of actors into a trance state for this rarely-seen fable about a village collectively going insane after its glass factory loses the formula for its fabulous, much-prized ruby glass. ABOUT THE WINE TASTING:
The setting for Heart of Glass is in the state of Bavaria, though lesser known than the more famous wine regions as the Mosel or Rheingau for example, Bavaria has the wine region of Franconia, with unique high mineral soils and a warmer climate, famed for the exceptional dry white Silvaner wines that come in the unique short and round shaped bottle known as the bocksbeutel. We will taste some samples served in ruby glass and learn more about Franconian wines while listening to the music of and also…
