About the event
Chris Marker—filmmaker, poet, novelist, photographer, editor, and videographer and digital multimedia artist—has been challenging moviegoers, philosophers, and himself for years with his complex queries about time, memory, and the rapid advancement of life on this planet.
SUNLESS a meditation on time and place, memory and the resonance of media and image, is Marker's mind-bending free-form travelogue that journeys from Africa to Japan. Unique juxtapositions of image and sound demonstrate how industrialization and depersonalization often go hand in hand. The experimental narrative applies a spiral form to mimic and enact the neurological associative processes that compose human memory. There has never been a film experience like it.
This Screening will open with live performances by experimental musicians: Federico Balducci & Bride Of Chucky (J Burkett/J Gallagher)
