About the event
West Willow is a vocal octet formed by the late Peter Amidon to record and perform some of his arrangements. The singers, all local to Brattleboro Vermont, are Stefan Amidon and Zara Bode (Starry Mountain Singers, Sweetback Sisters, Zara Bode's Little Big Band), Anna Patton (who also leads the Soubrettes and the Brattleboro Women's Chorus), Fred Breunig, Arthur Davis, Emma Schneider and Guillaume Sparrow-Pepin (all four of whom are a part of the annual Sing Nowell concert), and Hannah Cressy North. Each member has their own long history with choral singing, ranging from classical to shape note to English pub songs to swing and back again. Together they make up a beautiful blend of harmony presented with compelling arrangements of moving songs.
Meara O'Reilly is a composer and artist, focusing on perception and new musical interfaces. Her Hockets for Two Voices album was released on Cantaloupe in 2019. It was named in several year-end…
