About the event
Every Friday Night in August, Epsilon Spires transforms the parking lot into a safe socially-distanced outdoor cinema featuring innovative film screenings & performances under the stars...
April 21st- Love and Anarchy (1973) An epic tragicomedy from director Lina Wertmüller (Seven Beauties), LOVE AND ANARCHY plumbs the depths of fascist Italy from the perspective of a simple farm boy sent to assassinate Mussolini.
Giancarlo Giannini won the best acting prize at the Cannes Film Festival for his achingly sensitive portrayal of Tunin, a freckle-faced innocent who becomes an accidental anarchist. His contact in Rome is Salome (Mariangela Melato), a politically passionate sex-worker. The brothel is frequented both by fascist officials and anti-fascist revolutionaries. By proximity the prostitutes are privy to clandestine political strategy otherwise inaccessible to women. Salome’s strategic relationship with Mussolini's head of security, and scheming alliance with Tunin is therefore possible. While they prepare for the assassination, Tunin falls in love which threatens the entire operation.
