One of the great musicals of the 1980s follows a meek, down-and-out flower shop assistant Seymour (Rick Moranis), who becomes a national sensation when he discovers an exotic plant that needs human blood to survive. Soon the plant, Audrey II (an elaborate puppet created by Henson Creature Shop alumnus Lyle Conway and voiced by Levi Stubbs of The Four Tops) grows into an ill-tempered, foul-mouthed, R&B-singing carnivore.
