About the event
Jacob, Mimmi and the Talking Dogs. 2020, Latvia, 70 mins. Dubbed in English. Directed by Edmunds Jansons.
Tickets are $5.99 for a streaming link where you can watch the film until December 24th.
Jacob loves to draw cities, just like his architect father – and sometimes, the things he draws come true. With Dad away on a business trip, Jacob is packed off to stay in the quirky village of Maskachka with his cousin Mimmi and his Uncle Eagle. When Jacob draws a skyscraper in the middle of the village park and the bulldozers arrive, it’s up to the youngsters and a rag-tag pack of (talking!) dogs to put civic activism into action. Joyfully whimsical, Jacob, Mimmi and the Talking Dogs provides a timely lesson in community, ecology, and friendship, told in a charming animation style that recalls classic handpainted picture books.
