Carolina Eyck: Elegies for Theremin and Voice.
With loops and a variety of sound effects, Carolina develops whole choirs to extend the color palette of our sonic landscape. Singing without lyrics, she merges theremin and voice symbiotically. Her ethereal vocals give the Theremin a human quality, while the Theremin adds an otherworldly element.

About the event
The Theremin is a musical instrument invented in 1919 by a Russian physicist Leon Theremin. Besides its unusual appearance, the Theremin is also unique in that it is played without being touched. The variations of sound are determined by the proximity and movements of the muscian's hands in the electromagnetic field between it's antenaes.
German-Sorbian musician and composer Carolina Eyck was introduced to the Theremin by her parents at the age of 7. She is now considered to be one of the most talented Theremin soloists worldwide. Listen to some of her music here.
