Avant Pro Musica Presents: Jessica Pavone + Kelly Bray + Julie Bodian

Composer, violist, and improviser Jessica Pavone brings her singular solo practice to Epsilon Spires in support of her new album, …Is In the Air. For more than two decades, Pavone has developed a deeply personal musical language rooted in the viola’s open strings and natural sympathetic resonances, using sustained tones, layered harmonics, repetition, and electronics to explore sound as both an audible and physical experience. Her performances move between contemporary composition, improvisation, and electroacoustic music, balancing carefully constructed frameworks with openness and unpredictability.

Released October 16 on Relative Pitch and Weird Cry Records, …Is In the Air is Pavone’s sixth solo viola album.
