Elegy for Harold Budd- An Audiovisual Experience by Dave Seidel & Greg Kowalski

Dave Seidel is a New Hampshire-based independent composer working primarily in electroacoustic media with an emphasis on microtonal sonorities. Along with several Bandcamp releases, he has two CD releases: "~60 Hz" on Irritable Hedgehog (2014) and "Involution" on XI (2021). In a previous life as a guitarist, he is known for the premiere recording of Lois V Vierk's "五 Guitars" ("Go Guitars").

The work of digital media artist Greg Kowalski lies at the intersection of theater and performance art. His performance pieces incorporate interactive video projection systems of his own design that use movement, light or sound to create live visuals. Greg has also projected for numerous sound artists using his systems. The ability to create images through performance is essential to his concept of live projection.

About Elegy for Harold Budd:

The audio-reactive projection Greg created for Elegy for Harold Budd is composed of two visual elements that separately represent the sound of the Dvina and its accompaniment played by a modular synthesizer.

Curious to hear what it sounds like when improviser Liz Durette plays French Baroque music on our historic Estey organ? For our free Lunchtime Pipe Organ Series on Wednesday September 7th, at 12PM Liz will play a program of works by Francois Couperin, from his unmeasured preludes, masses, and Pièces de clavecin.

Critical Acclaim for Liz Durette

“… an intriguing, unorthodox improviser unlike most of her contemporaries” -Dusted Magazine.

“… deep and passionate exploration” -Pitchfork.
